If you're not familiar with them it's a character head where all the component sprites are 2D images but, when rigged, they give the illusion of a 3D head - one that can turn from side to side or up and down simply by moving the sprites in a coordinated way.
The heads themselves look really great but give the impression that they must be complicated to rig however, my latest tutorial, How to Rig G3 and G3-360 Character Heads in Cartoon Animator, demonstrates that you really only need to rig four main angles to create a fully functioning G3-360 character head.
At USD$14.99, How to Rig G3 and G3-360 Heads, is my best value tutorial to date. As well as the Step-by-Step PDF Storyboard document, it includes a Cartoon Animator project file to help you generate reference/base images for all the sprites you need (drastically reducing the creation time) for a G3 Head using Morph-based Heads, two, one hour plus tutorial videos that show how I created my Businessman's face sprites, and how I rigged his G3-360 head, plus all the finished ctTBactor files, PSD Template, and single character sprite for my Businessman character.
For further information and screenshots from the tutorial see the store box below. While you don't need them, I do recommend buying the first two tutorials in the series if you've never rigged a character from scratch before, or you just want to learn the quickest, and easiest way, to rig a complete character from one single sprite in Cartoon Animator. All three tutorials can be bought together as a bundle here.
